MAP COASTER

道が刻まれたモルタル素材のコースター。
コップの水滴やコーヒーの染みなどで、新しい地図から古地図の風合いへと表情を変えていきます。
輪を描くように積み重なっていく染みの中心地には、実在する街のある場所が置かれています。
今はもうないかもしれない生まれた家や、大切な人と旅した思い出の地など、地図の上にはきっと誰かにとっての大切な場所で埋め尽くされているはず。
そんな一つひとつの特別な場所が、道でつながり描かれているのが地図なのかもしれません。
たまにはそんな詩的な気分に浸っりながら、記憶の中の思い出の地に思いを馳せてみるのも素敵な時間です。

Marks from water rings and coffee stains gradually change its surface from that of a new map into the feel of an old one.
At the centre of the rings, a real place in an actual town is marked.
Perhaps it is a childhood home that may no longer exist, or a place remembered from a journey with someone important.
A map may be made of such special places, each one connected by roads.
